- This delightful standing Buddha statue is gilt with gold leaf and is in the classic Mandalay style
- The torso of the Buddha is completely enveloped in an elaborately draped capelike outer robe (uttarasanga) that terminates around the hemlines in cascades of flaring overlapping folds finished with bands of raised lacquer and he is inlaid throughout with spectacular mirror and glass mosaic
- The Buddha’s hands are held gracefully to his side down and outward
- In his right hand he holds out a myrobalan seed (Terminalia chebula), known as a herbal medicine used to treat physical disorders. The seed has also been thought to produce an elevated psychic state that facilitates meditation and is considered sacred.
- His robes flow over his body naturally like water flowing over rocks in a stream
- He stands on a large wonderful large raised lotus base which is covered in mirrored glass mosaic, a notable feature of this piece
